In this event, the competitor is riding on the back of a bareback horse. The competitor is trying to stay on the horse for 8 seconds and the horse is trying to throw the rider off by bucking and running around the arena.
In this event, the rider attempts to rope a calf from horseback. The rider throws a rope around the neck of the calf, dismounts and runs to the calf to tie three of its legs together. This is to be accomplished in the shortest time possible.
In this event, the rider chases a steer while on horseback. When the rider is close enough to the steer they drop down from horseback onto the steer and wrestle it to the grown by its horns.
In this event, the competitor is riding on the back of a horse that is saddled. The competitor is trying to stay on the horse for 8 seconds without being thrown off.
In this event, the rider and horse take a cloverleaf shaped route around barrels that are certain distances from each other. The goal is to attempt to get the fastest time.
In this event, a team of two competitors on horseback attempt to rope a steer. The header ropes the front of the steer around the horns and the other rider ropes the hind feet.
In this event, a rider mounts a bull in a chute and they are then released into the arena. The rider holds on attempting to stay on the bull for 8 seconds.
This event is similar to calf roping, but the calf is not thrown and tied.
